There are opportunities to get involved with training at the Children’s Wood. The types of training sessions we provide are:
- How to run a campaign or start something similar to the Children’s Wood
- Tips for gardening, growing, maintenance and foraging
- Training for teachers. Outdoor learning and how you can achieve this on The Children’s Wood or in your local greenspace. How outdoor learning can meet the Curriculum for Excellence
- Basic skills and techniques such as rope use, tool use, equipment care and putting up shelters
- Health and safety and risk assessment when working outdoors
- Introduction to Outdoor Learning: including approaches such as Forest School, loose parts play and developmental psychology
- The Children’s Wood training for volunteers
