Glasgow City Council keep saying that The North Kelvin Meadow and Children’s Wood is derelict and unused. We find this surprising since formally there are at least about 1,000 people on the land per month and probably the same again informally.
We’ve also heard from several council members that building on the land is a ‘done deal’. This is also surprising since there is a whole planning process to go through. Why bother with a planning process if it’s a ‘done deal’? we wan’t to know what they know that we don’t?
We believe that we can save this space for the community. There are multiple reasons why it should not be built on and why it should remain the community space it has always been. This music event is one more community gathering designed to inspire and engage families but also to show Glasgow City Council that we use and love this land.
Join our Facebook page to find out more about the The Little House of La gig. Or, just turn up on the 26th of January (this is thought to be the most depressing day of the year) for some uplifting music. The event will start at 2:30 and finish at 4:30. Children can make instruments to play while the band perform. A donation of £5 per family. Pay on the door.
