Halloween’s coming…

This time next week we’ll be setting up for our Halloween event on North Kelvin Meadow.  It will be the first time that the meadow and Children’s Wood will be ‘lit up’ at night.

Children and families can enjoy the unique experience along with many other special activities. Actor, Tam Dean Burn will perform Julia Donaldson’s book Room on the Broom.  Julia, the Children’s Laureate, Supports our campaign to save the Children’s Wood.

Every child will be given a packed dinner, which will consist of a sandwich and other treats courtesy of Tesco (who will donate most of the food) and The North Star Cafe (who will make up the dinner boxes.)

Not only this, but there will be more Halloween activities for children to do.  Parents from the German Kinderclub will be helping children to make bat, owl and ghost lanterns.  These lanterns can be re-used on the 4th of November for the Lantern Parade at Glasgow University Chapel   Park Ranger, Ian Lewis will be assisting children in making broomsticks. There will be halloween activity sheets for children to take home.

There will also be some great raffle prizes donated from Ae Fond Kiss, The Sentry Box and Barefoot Wigwam books.  All of this and more.

The great news is that the event is FREE.  We do hope that people will give a donation as this will help to cover the costs of lighting, and other resources which will make the evening a night to remember.

We hope to see you there! 4:30pm – 6:30 pm on Wednesday 31st of October.
