As part of the People’s Project Big Lottery Funding, the Children’s Wood is able to put on some food related activities and we have an new employee to help us to do this. The most recent addition to the Children’s Wood team is Riikka. Riika is employed on a part time basis as a Schools and Community Food Co-ordinator. She will organise a variety of activities including healthy eating and cooking workshops, will give out seasonal recipes and hope to utilise some of the amazing vegetables from the Children’s Wood community garden to cook tasty community meals. The Children’s Wood plan is also to link up with schools and other surrounding organisations to make healthy eating more accessible and fun!
